Custard Choco Pudding (Eggless)

CUSTARD CHOCO PUDDING (Eggless)

Note: This recipe is slightly updated from source(mentioned at bottom) to make it easily and quickly wrt efforts required & desired final dish from my perspective.

Serving Size: 5-6 people

Ingredients:

Choco Biscuit Base:

200g Parle-G Biscuit ( Parle-G is brand of Glucose biscuit in India. Any Glucose Biscuit available can be used )

2 Tbsp Cocoa Powder - Unsweetened (Can use sweetened as well if you like more sweet but since Glucose biscuit is already sweet Unsweet Cocoa helps balance the sweetness.)

2 tsp Vanilla Extract

3 Tbsp Melted Butter

Eggless Custard :

3 cup Milk

1/4 Cup Custard Powder (We used Weikfield Custard Powder Vanilla Flavor)

1/4 cup powdered sugar (if no powdered sugar can use regular sugar as well but depending on your sweet tooth maybe add 1/8th cup or so)

Recipe:

  • First we will make the Choco Biscuit Base

    1. In a blender jar add the Parle-G biscuits (or any Glucose biscuit) and blend them till its  powder form.

    2. In a big bowl pour the biscuit and add 1-2 tsp Vanilla extract. Can add more for more vanilla flavor. Also add the 2 Tbsp Cocoa powder and 3 Tbsp melted butter & mix everything till moist tasty choco biscuit mixture is ready.  Keep the mixture aside.

  • Eggless Custard Preparation

    1. In a Kadai/big pan/pot/wok take 3 cups of milk and let it warm.

    2. After its warm add the 1/4cup of custard powder and mix it trying to keep no lumps. ( Being an amateur cook and not caring for lumps I had lumps and I loved them. I just mixed it best I could). However, there is an alternative solution: Can add some milk to the custard powder in a bowl and mix well in it till no lumps and then add to the pan.

Note: In case of lumps overall serving size may become little less but still I guarantee its tasty.

    3. Add 1/4 cup powdered sugar as well to the custard + milk and mix it and keep cooking till the custard thickens little bit and feels like custard. Can taste and see if anything else needs adding.

    4. Turn off the gas and keep custard aside now.

  • Pudding Assembly

    1. Take a nice desert glass or bowl whatever you like.

    2. At the base of the desert bowl/glass put some of the biscuit filling and then press it to make it a solid base.

    3. On top of the biscuit filling add the custard .

    4. Based on amount of biscuit and custard & size of desert bowl/glass can make multiple quantities.

    5. Refrigerate the pudding overnight. For eating soon can freeze it as well.

  •  Enjoy the cold & frozen Custard Choco Pudding!!!!!
